On Tuesday, December 12, the professional social network LinkedIn released its annual "Top Voices" ranking of the most influential contributors in 2017. Xavier Pavie, professor at ESSEC, ranks among the top 10 in the world in the education category. Two other ESSEC professors were also ranked in the LinkedIn France category.

This is an outstanding acknowledgement for Xavier Pavie. A professor of innovation and the Director of the iMagination Center at ESSEC, Pavie is one of the most influential contributors to LinkedIn, the world's leading online professional network, in the education category. He is the only European who managed to be ranked among the world's top 10 in the education category. According to Pavie, "We can stand out against the titans of education using a transdisciplinary approach. It shows that even outside of the United States, we can have a voice. "

The creator of iMagination Week, Pavie mainly uses LinkedIn to continue the debate and encourage further reflection. "[LinkedIn] is a sounding board to share thoughts and ideas. The first place to share is the classroom and LinkedIn can be used to extend that space. It is a powerful and qualitative way to share a critical approach that combines management and philosophical issues. There is less consumerism, so our focus is less scattered,” explains Pavie.  Professor Pavie has more than 50,000 followers on LinkedIn and some of his contributions over the course of the year have included "Why are innovative individuals so detestable?" and "Teaching outside the classroom, learning by doing”. Pavie’s articles have been read by nearly 40,000 people and have accumulated 2,000 likes and over 700 shares.

LinkedIn also recognized the best contributors on a national level. Among the 25 award-winning personalities in France, five belong to higher education sector, including two from ESSEC: Viviane de Beaufort, professor of law and Director of the program "Women Entrepreneurship" as well as Hamid Bouchikhi, professor of management and Director of the Entrepreneurship Center.
