On 22 September 2016, ESSEC & Mannheim Executive MBA Asia-Pacific participants visited the Bolloré Logistics Green Hub in Singapore. The visit was initiated by current EMBA participant, Mr. Frédéric Marcerou, Managing Director of PT Bolloré Logistics Indonesia. During the visit, participants had a first-hand look at the value-added stations for perfume, cosmetics and apparels at Bolloré Logistics.

The visit provided EMBA participants the chance to  better understand how a global logistics company operates and handles supply chain and distribution for the luxury and premium products in the Asia-Pacific region. This complements the ESSEC & Mannheim EMBA Asia-Pacific module on Supply Chain Management: Asian Perspective, which introduces participants to supply chain and operations management and provides an overview of the managerial challenges on both the strategic and operational levels. The module also illustrates how a competitive advantage can be created through the implementation of successful supply chains.

Mr. Mirko Petrelli, Partner at Stones International and current EMBA participant, said,"The visit to Bolloré was an exciting experience that allowed the ESSEC & Mannheim Executive MBA participants to see in practice what has been studied in class.

I think the Singapore Green Hub, an initiative that has been supported by both Bolloré and LVMH, is an excellent example of what companies can do to prepare a business case for eco-friendly initiatives and realize it with the full support from the top management.

Having visited other logistics facilities before, I was also impressed by the overall design and quality of the working environment."
